Law research

We are committed to contributing, through the excellence of our research and policy work, to critical exploration of the role of law in promoting (or inhibiting) social justice.

 

Sociology, social policy, & criminology research

Our critical research is often addressed to questions of social justice and illuminating power relations.

The School of Law and Social Justice has a rich research culture where PhD students are involved in cutting edge research and work with world-leading experts in their field.

Research impact

In REF 2021, the Department of Sociology, Social Policy, and Criminology placed 3rd in the REF for 4* outputs, and Liverpool Law School placed 10th for 4* Impact.
