Centres of Excellence

The Versus Arthritis Centre for Integrated Research into Musculoskeletal Ageing (CIMA) is a collaboration between researchers and clinicians at the University of Liverpool, University of Sheffield and Newcastle University. The Centre, funded by Versus Arthritis, was established in 2012.

The Centre has been formed as a strategic research platform, bringing together world-leading research and clinical specialists in cardiovascular biology and medicine.The Centre partners have allied their forces to tackle the stark issue of Cardiovascular health in the North West.

The Centre is a unique consortium delivering translational biomedical research in childhood arthritis and related musculoskeletal disorders. It is the UK’s first and only EATC dedicated to children and was established in 2014.
